Columbia Threadneedle Prize 2016
Born in North Wales in 1960, David Dawson is a painter who studied at Chelsea School of Art between 1984 and 1987, followed by the Royal College of Art between 1987 and 1989. He is now represented by Marlborough Fine Art in London, where he exhibited in an exhibition Two London Painters in 2004 and a solo exhibition London : Wales : New York in 2013. A further exhibition, Working with Lucian Freud, was held at Pallant House Gallery, Chichester in 2012.
David exhibited in the John Moores Painting Prize in 2014.
An exhibition of David’s photographs, Lucian Freud in the Studio, took place at the National Portrait Gallery, London in 2004 and another, Freud at Work, in 2006.
